Dear Neighbors,

Happy Halloween!

This evening, don't forget to turn your clocks back 1 hour.

COVID-19 is still with us.  I recently lost a friend to this terrible disease.  Please stay safe and use precautions.

We are in a period of growth and change in District 8.  Our neighborhoods should grow in quality for residents as well as size, so we are currently exploring sensible, affordable, design standards for residential areas to encourage this.

I can't understand why there still is not one single coffee cafe in the Meeting Street District between Shuler Street and 12th Street!  There's so many cool spaces for one, and the rents are affordable!  This huge opportunity will make all residences in the immediate up-and-coming neighborhood more desirable.  If you know any experienced cafe operators (or are interested in becoming one), please contact our Economic Development Department IMMEDIATELY! I will bend over backwards to make this or any other LOCAL food establishment happen!

And lastly, Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. You may find your precinct here. Early voting is also available from now until Election Day. Here are the times and locations, remember be there early & plan accordingly. No matter your party affiliation, your vote is important.

As always, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

David Benjamin Moye

Councilman, West Columbia District #8
